The short answer

Kinsta suits sites that need support at any hour in several languages, self-service backups and restores, and a dashboard full of tools. The first month is free on its entry plans.

WPops Land suits a UK business with one or a few WordPress sites that wants a price in pounds, DNS and email records looked after as part of the hosting, and one person who knows the site and answers the phone.

The price

Kinsta prices in US dollars, before tax. On 19 October 2026 the Single 20GB plan was $35 a month, about £26.25 at the rate above, or $350 a year on annual billing. An extra site was $30 a month and 20 GB more storage was $20 a month. The entry plan is measured by bandwidth: 20 GB a month from the server and 125 GB from the CDN. Kinsta also has plans measured by visits, and larger single-site plans up to $375 a month.

WPops Land is £25 a month for one site, in pounds, with no bandwidth or visit count for normal small-business traffic. After the six-month minimum it runs month to month. Billed monthly, Kinsta’s entry plan costs a little more than WPops Land at the rate above. Billed annually it costs less, about £21.87 a month before tax, and the first month is free.

Where Kinsta is the better choice

  • Support at any hour. Kinsta has human support 24/7 in eight languages. I reply within 24 hours and the monitoring alerts me when a site goes down, but I’m one person.
  • Data centres. Thirty locations, from London and Frankfurt to Tokyo and São Paulo, picked per site.
  • Doing it yourself. You can make manual backups and restore any backup from MyKinsta yourself. On WPops Land you take snapshots yourself, but I do the restore.
  • The dashboard. MyKinsta has a built-in APM tool for finding slow code, plus staging that you push live yourself.
  • A free first month and free migrations. You can try the entry plan for 30 days without paying, and every migration is free.
  • Certificates. Kinsta lists SOC 2 Type II and ISO 27001. WPops Land has neither.
  • Price on annual billing, as above, before tax.

Where WPops Land differs

  • A price in pounds. £25 a month, so the bill doesn’t move with the exchange rate.
  • Backups are kept for 28 days. Kinsta’s entry plans keep daily backups for 14.
  • The login is behind Google sign-in. Before a WordPress login form appears, the visitor has to sign in with a Google account you’ve listed, so bots scanning for login pages get nothing back.
  • DNS and email authentication are done for you. You edit DNS from the dashboard with full change history, and I set up SPF, DKIM and DMARC records and read the reports, so receiving mail servers can check that your contact form and order emails really come from you.
  • A fully managed security front door. Every site sits behind Google Cloud Armor, a web application firewall and DDoS protection, with the WordPress login behind Google sign-in. There’s nothing to configure and no option to switch it off.
  • One person who knows your site. Tickets, emails and calls to 020 3422 9767 come to me, and I built the platform.

Who should pick which

Stay with Kinsta, or choose it, if you need support at any hour or in another language, self-service restores, or SOC 2 and ISO 27001 paperwork.

Choose WPops Land if you run one to a handful of WordPress sites for a UK business, want a bill in pounds, and want DNS, email records and updates looked after by the person who runs the servers.

Moving across

Your first migration is free. I copy your files and database, test the site on the new platform, then switch the domain once you’ve checked it. Email records and redirects are part of the move. See pricing or tell me about your site.

Questions

Anything else: ask me.

Doesn’t Kinsta run on Google Cloud too?

It did. Kinsta’s documentation, updated on 1 April 2026, says its WordPress hosting now runs on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure. WPops Land runs on Google Cloud in London.

Is WPops Land cheaper than Kinsta?

Billed monthly, slightly: Kinsta’s entry plan was $35 a month, about £26.25, on 19 October 2026, before tax, against £25. Billed annually, Kinsta costs less, and its first month is free. Compare what each includes: backup retention, DNS and email authentication, and who does the restores.

Can I host in London with Kinsta?

Yes. London is one of its 30 data centres.

Will my email keep working during the move?

Yes. Email records, redirects and caches are part of the move, and the domain only switches once you’ve checked the site.
