WordPress hosting

WordPress hosting: £25 a month

£25

a month

This is the plan most clients are on. It covers one production WordPress site, run and looked after by me on Google Cloud in London.

What’s in it:

  • Hosting on Google Kubernetes Engine in London, with two copies of your site running in production
  • Images and downloads served from Google’s content delivery network, with page and object caching
  • WordPress, plugin and theme updates, done for you
  • Admin login behind Google sign-in, so only the people you list can reach it
  • Daily backups of the database, files and media, kept for 28 days
  • Snapshots on demand from the dashboard before a risky change
  • Free staging and development copies of your site
  • Uptime checks every 5 minutes, with 90 days of history
  • DNS hosting for your domain, with self-service editing and change history
  • SPF, DKIM and DMARC records, with the reports read for you
  • Site email for contact forms, order confirmations and WordPress notices
  • Spare domains redirected or parked, with HTTPS
  • The dashboard, the AI assistant and support from me

Breakdance, Elementor, the block editor and WooCommerce all run on this plan. Premium plugins need your own licence, which I install for you.

Terms

The minimum term is six months from the date you order. After that the plan runs month to month, and you can cancel with 30 days’ notice.

WPops Land Ltd invoices monthly in advance. Each invoice is due within 30 days of its date, and you can pay by bank transfer, by card or by a scheduled card payment.

If the hosting isn’t working for you in the first 30 days, for any reason, I refund the rest of what you’ve paid.

Response times

I reply to questions and requests within 24 hours. If your site is down, the monitoring alerts me and I start on it straight away. You raise tickets from the dashboard, by email or by phone on 020 3422 9767, and they come to me.

What this plan fits

The £25 plan suits small business sites: brochure sites, small and medium WooCommerce shops, service businesses, schools, charities and consultants. It fits sites with up to about 10 GB of files and the traffic a small organisation normally sees.

If your site is larger, gets sudden spikes from campaigns or needs faster response times, tell me what you have and I’ll work out a plan that fits.

Doesn’t fit your budget? I have special rates for small sites and charities. Get in touch. I’m always happy to have a conversation.

How it compares

Prices vary between providers and change often, so this is a general picture. For a named, dated comparison, see the pages for WP Engine, Kinsta and SiteGround.

Premium hosts have larger teams, more data centres and support at any hour. If you need those, they are a good choice. WPops Land is for UK businesses that want a well-run site and a direct line to the person running it.

Questions about pricing

Anything else: ask me.

Can you move my site from my current host?

Yes. The first migration is free. I copy the site across, test it on the new platform, and switch the domain over when you’re happy. Further migrations cost £50 each.

Can I phone you?

Yes. The number is 020 3422 9767. If I can’t pick up, leave a message and I’ll ring back. If your site is down, the monitoring has usually told me before you call.

What happens if I want to leave?

I give you a copy of your site’s files and database, and I help you move your domain to wherever you’re going. There’s no exit fee.

Can I use Elementor, Breakdance or WooCommerce?

Yes. I have tuned the caching for Breakdance, Elementor and the block editor, and WooCommerce shops run on the same plan. If you have a premium plugin, you keep your own licence and I install it.

Bespoke apps and quotes

Portals, registers, bookings and card payments built for your organisation are quoted per project, and hosting is included in the quote. If you’re not sure where your project fits, tell me about it and I’ll give you a straight answer on what it would cost.
